A writer is fortunate

when she can write about what inspires her.  I am passionate about boating and the waterways you can explore by boat, about travel, about our environment, about food, about bird dogs and about people, the men and women who make their way through this life in their own inimitable way.

“‘The lights made long shadows of the tall weeds. There was dust hanging inches above the road, like a car had only moments before passed this way, but I knew there was no one on this road but us. The lights were two strong beams, searching into the future down the narrow road, following the ruts before intersecting somewhere above the grassy runner in the middle where tires almost never rolled. No one really pulled off the road around here. They just drove until they were alone and parked.”
